Our Story

Atula & Etienne Watson founded Lunalay Hammocks in 2010 soon after the birth of their first child. With a degree in design and a love for natural fabrics, Atula recreated what has been a tradition in many cultures for centuries. With the goal of creating a safe and secure baby bed, Atula and Etienne refined the Lunalay Hammock design until it offered the most stability, safety and peace of mind. After 10 years of hand-crafting hammocks and selling globally, Atula and Etienne now work closely with local manufacturers to continue offering products of outstanding quality. All materials are resourced thoughtfully and created consciously for the benefit of our children, our health and our planet.

An Elegant Look for Nursery Decor'

The Lunalay Hammock began its journey as a small hanging cradle with the hopes of supporting mother and child during the first challenging months after birth. When my child outgrew his hammock, which had become his favorite napping spot, it inspired me to change the design to encompass a toddler. This was when the convertible hammock idea was born. After some much needed refinement it has become an extremely versatile Children’s hammock swing, Baby cradle, Arial swing, you name it. It now offers support for new mothers and carries through into childhood. With its elegant look, the Lunalay Hammock can fit in nicely with any decor, while providing a space of safety and comfort for your child.
