What began as a handmade hammock for our own family has grown into a product cherished by families around the world.
Lunalay Hammocks began in 2010, shortly after the birth of our first child.
With a background in design and deep love for natural fabrics, Aditi began exploring an age-old idea: a gently suspended cradle that could create a special, cozy space for a baby and mother.
Our first child spent countless hours in his hammock, and when he began to outgrow it, Aditi didn't want to let go of something that had become such a beloved part of his early months.
So she began to rethink the design. Could a baby hammock become something that grows alongside a child?
That question led to the creation of Lunalay's convertible hammock design - a hammock that could transition into a chair swing for childhood.

Today, Lunalay remains a small family-run business based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We continue to thoughtfully select our materials and handcraft each Lunalay with the care, quality, and attention to detail that have always been at the heart of our work.
